Add custom allergens and safe swaps
Handle ingredients outside the standard list and keep suggested substitutions under restaurant control.
1
Use Other for an extra allergen
Open the dish’s allergen editor and choose Other when the ingredient is not one of the standard major allergens. Name it clearly, such as coconut or corn.
2
Keep the standard list complete
Custom allergens supplement the standard list; they do not replace reviewing Dairy, Egg, Peanuts, Tree nuts, Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shellfish, and Sesame.
3
Choose a suggested swap manually
AI swap suggestions stay unpublished until the restaurant adds them. Check that the kitchen can execute the change consistently.
4
Write the limitation
Use the swap note to explain preparation limits, upcharges, or cross-contact concerns. A substitution is not automatically safe for every diner.
