Use the tools with a severe allergy
Make cross-contact warnings more conservative and know when to involve restaurant staff.
1
Set severity in your profile
Choose the severe option for the relevant allergen. The matching process treats kitchen cross-contact notes more cautiously for that allergen.
2
Read kitchen notes before ordering
Shared fryers, grills, prep areas, utensils, and cutting boards can change the practical answer even when the ingredient list looks clear.
3
Ask for a separate-prep answer
Tell staff the allergy is severe and ask whether they can prepare the item separately. If they cannot answer confidently, choose a different option.
4
Keep your medical plan with you
Food Allergy Options is an information tool. Carry your prescribed medication and follow the plan from your healthcare professional.
